Review the instructions in your Rivian Account and delivery confirmation. Resolve any outstanding purchase steps before your appointment, and keep the requested documents easy to access.

• Confirm your appointment time, location and any instructions from the delivery team.
• Review outstanding payment, registration, insurance and trade-in tasks with Rivian.
• Have your driver’s license, insurance information and any requested documents ready.
• Download the Rivian app, sign in and bring a charged phone.
• Check that your parking space has room for the vehicle, doors and liftgate.
• Plan your first charging session. If installing a home charger, arrange installation with a licensed electrician.
• Save this checklist and make a short list of questions for your walkthrough.

Before getting into the details, check that the vehicle and equipment match your order.

• Compare the vehicle identification number (VIN) with your delivery paperwork.
• Verify the exterior color, interior, wheels and ordered options.
• Confirm the R2 appears in your Rivian app once the delivery handover is complete.
• Ask the team to help set up and demonstrate the supported phone or digital key.
• Account for the keys, cards, fob and accessories included with your particular order.
• Ask how to access the vehicle if your phone is unavailable.

Inspect the vehicle in good light where possible. Look at each side from a few angles and photograph anything you want the delivery team to review.

• Check painted panels, bumpers and exterior trim for visible scratches, chips, dents or damage.
• Inspect the windshield, roof glass, windows and mirrors for chips or cracks.
• Look for loose trim, displaced seals or alignment differences that affect how an opening closes.
• Open and close each door, the liftgate and the front trunk using the demonstrated controls.
• Check the wheels for damage and the tires for visible cuts, bulges or other concerns.
• Ask for a demonstration of exterior lights, turn signals, wipers and washers.

If something looks unusual, ask Rivian to assess it. Visual differences alone do not establish whether a part is outside the manufacturer’s specifications.

Take a seat in both rows. This is a useful time to adjust your driving position and learn the controls you will use on the way home.

• Inspect the seats, carpet, headliner and interior trim for damage or staining.
• Check seat adjustments and make sure each seat belt pulls out, buckles and retracts.
• Test window controls and mirror adjustments.
• Try the climate controls, vents and defogging functions; test seat heating or ventilation where equipped.
• Check the displays, audio, phone connection and available charging ports.
• Ask the team to demonstrate the camera views and explain any messages or warning indicators.
• Learn how to select a drive direction, engage Park and adjust the controls needed for driving.

Rivian provides an on-screen Tour Your Rivian experience to introduce key features and controls. Use it alongside your walkthrough, and ask about anything that remains unfamiliar.

The R2 has 40/20/40 folding rear seats. Try each section before installing accessories so you understand how the original seats and storage areas operate.

• Inspect the rear cargo floor, seat backs and front trunk for damage.
• Have the team demonstrate folding and returning each rear seat section to its upright, latched position.
• Check that seat belts remain clear when moving the seats.
• Locate accessible storage compartments and learn how their panels and handles work.
• If you will use child seats, locate the appropriate attachment points and review the vehicle and child-seat instructions before installation.

The R2 has a native NACS charging port. Check compatibility with the chargers you plan to use, including whether a suitable adapter is needed. Use Rivian’s charging guidance rather than assuming every station with a similar connector is compatible.

• Locate the charge port and learn how to open it, connect a cable and release it.
• Ask how to start and stop charging and identify the charging status.
• Review the recommended everyday charge limit for your vehicle.
• Confirm which charging equipment or adapters are included or separately ordered.
• Check the battery level and plan a compatible charging stop if needed for your trip home.

If you notice a concern, show the delivery team while you are with the vehicle. Take a clear photo or short video, describe the location and ask how the concern will be documented and followed up.

• Keep a copy of your notes and any service reference provided.
• Clarify next steps for missing accessories or items that need attention.
• Confirm you know how to reach Rivian support and request service.
• Before driving, check that doors and storage openings are closed, your seating position is comfortable and the pedal area is clear.

Rivian accepts service requests through its app or Service Support. If a concern may affect safe operation, have Rivian assess it before driving.
